\n\t\t\t\tSubdepartment of Physical Chemistry\t\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t \n Department of Chemistry <\/span>\n \t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>[vc_row_inner css=”.vc_custom_1621441139032{margin-top: 120px !important;}”][vc_column_inner width=”1\/6″][vc_single_image image=”8466″ img_size=”full” style=”vc_box_border”][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”5\/6″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1672147427235{margin-top: -15px !important;}”]The Subdepartment of Physical Chemistry was founded with the arrival of Prof. Dr. Tibor \u0160kerlak to Sarajevo in the spring of 1954, after being elected to the position of Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo. The following year, Tibor Ribar was chosen as an assistant. The first head of the Subdepartment was prof. Dr. Tibor \u0160kerlak. The members of this Chair also performed very important functions in the work of the Faculty and the University.<\/p>\n

A large number of scientific and professional works were published and cooperation was established related to the scientific and professional issues of large economic organizations and their institutes (“Energoinvest”, “UNIS”, “Zrak”), whose personnel the members of the Department guided through the labyrinth of science and practice, being their mentors.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” css=”.vc_custom_1620828677045{padding-top: 32px !important;padding-bottom: 74px !important;background-color: #f7f7f7 !important;}”][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]The members of the Suhave on several occasions stayed in scientific institutions in developed countries (USA, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland), but also in developing countries (Zambia), where they transferred their rich scientific and pedagogical experience to young staff in those countries. The first postgraduate study “Kinetics and Catalysis” was organized at the Faculty of Science in Sarajevo, which enabled the then young assistant staff of the Subdepartment of Chemistry to develop and advance to teaching and scientific positions. Later, a postgraduate course in corrosion and electrochemistry was opened.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1620829649868{padding-left: 30px !important;}”][vc_column_text]During the past war, the premises of the Subdepartment were completely devastated. This especially applies to the student practicum, which was completely destroyed and set on fire. The losses also apply to the teaching staff of the Faculty, but even in such difficult conditions, work with students was not interrupted.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” css=”.vc_custom_1621441516430{padding-bottom: 44px !important;background-color: #1a616b !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”kreator-big-text kreator-dark-section”]<\/p>\n

Hundreds of graduate and master’s theses, doctoral theses and professional projects have been completed at the Department.<\/p>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1621441933942{margin-top: 27px !important;margin-bottom: 72px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Over many years, the Department has had a large number of teachers, associates and non-teaching staff.<\/p>\n

In addition to the professors mentioned above, Prof. Dr. Borivoj Gali\u0107, prof. Dr. Merzuk Cacan, assistant professor dr. Vjero\u010dka \u0160i\u0161lov, then, prof. Dr. Branko \u0160kundri\u0107, prof. Dr. Jelena Penavin-\u0160kundri\u0107, assistant professor Ph.D. Branka Ninkov, as well as his colleagues at the time, Ph.D. Predrag Ili\u0107, Ph.D. Mladen Milo\u0161, Ph.D. Du\u0161ko \u0160uti\u0107, Ph.D. \u017deljka Karlovi\u0107, MSc., Tomislav Luki\u0107, Vuk \u0160iljegovi\u0107, Nada Gotovac and many others who achieved enviable academic careers.<\/p>\n
