About the library
Department of ChemistryThe library started operating in 1955 as an integral part of the library of the Faculty of Philosophy. Since 1960/61 and the establishment of the Faculty of Science, the library operates as the Library of the Department of Chemistry.
During the post-war years, with the great aid of the Federal Ministry of Education, the WUS and SABRA organizations, as well as the selfless efforts of the Department of Chemistry staff and the voluntary work of chemistry students, the Library was successfully revitalized and the library fund was enriched.
The library of the Department of Chemistry has about 5000 books, including bachelor’s and master’s theses and doctoral dissertations defended at the Department since 1954 to the present day.

Working hours
The library is open primarily to teaching staff and students of the Department and Faculty, but also to anyone interested in chemistry.

Terms of the loan
- For users who are not staff or students of the Department of Chemistry and Faculty of Science Sarajevo, there are special conditions for using literary materials.
- For certain publications (archival copies, old and rare books, damaged publications, etc.), there are special conditions of use for all users.
